This 4-hour lecture/ 4 hour hands-on course will benefit new and returning attendees of last year’s course by Dr. DiPonziano. At the previous course, Dr. DiPonziano focused on guided bone regeneration and introduced implants to attendees. This course will continue your implant placement journey. It is not necessary to have attended last year’s course in order to benefit from this course.
In the morning, Dr. DiPonziano will discuss the details of implant placement, guided vs. free-hand, single vs. multiple implants, and what to look for. This is a course to teach surgical implant dentistry for beginners to intermediates. We will also discuss implant impression techniques: scan vs. impression materials. For the more curious, the crestal approach to sinus lifts will be discussed. In the afternoon, you will get the chance to place implants into a synthetic jaw and experiment with a crestal sinus lift procedure. All supplies, implants and drills will be provided.
Dr. John DiPonziano DDS, MAGD, MAAIP, DICOI has been performing the surgical placement and prosthetic restoration of dental implants since the mid-eighties. A 1983 graduate of Temple University School of Dentistry, he also completed a three year didactic and participatory program in Implantology at the University of Pennsylvania in 1988. He is a Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, a Credentialed Member of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, a Master of the Academy of General Dentistry, and a Master of the American Academy of Implant Prosthodontics. He served as President of the New Jersey Academy of General Dentistry in 2003, and Chaired the AGD Implantology Task Force, which formulated universal educational guidelines for implant training in 2009.
